Buildings Are Not Enough
Tbilisi Architecture Biennial is announcing a contest for public installation projects in the frame of first Biennial event “Buildings Are Not Enough”.
Various buildings and public spaces in Gldani district are planned to be the center of the dialogue about architectural and urban topics. The Biennial will include a symposium, exhibitions, interventions in Gldani public spaces, in collaborations with the local community, international architecture and urban planning experts, artists and scientists.
Three (3) winning projects will be announced during the Tbilisi Architecture Biennial, in the end of October, 2018.
The authors of the winner projects will receive requested funding (maximum GEL 8000) for the production and placement of the installations. After the submission of corresponding financial statement and completion of the work each winner artist (group) will be rewarded with the honorarium in the amount of GEL 1500.
Those who are interested to participate, please note that architecture Biennial focuses on the topic of Informal Architecture – “Buildings Are Not Enough”. (Please find details in the attached file “Buildings Are Not Enough” - http://www.biennial.ge/). It is recommended for the artists to have clearly developed, conceptual and artistic solutions in their project proposal. The proposed location and context should be considered.
In collaboration with Biennial team selecting projects and their implementations in the public space are curated by the contemporary art platform Obscura.
The project is implemented with the support of Creative Europe.
